Free land (New World Studio)

You can have free land by hosting it on your own computer at home, or on your own dedicated server, using New World Studio software, easier to use than a classic OpenSimulator distribution.

You can also rent parcels of land or full regions. New World Grid being a non for profit organization, all benefits will be used to maintain the central services and servers and to support educational and cultural projects.

Hosting land at home, or on a dedicated server, whatever the country it is hosted in, implies that all the content and human activity compies to New World Grid rules, to french laws (hosting country) and to your residence country laws. We remind that all virtual spaces must be Parental Guidance compliant.

How to host my own land ?

In order to host your own land, you must use New World Studio which is compatible with many operating systems.

1. Reserve a region spot on the world map and start New World Studio

If you do not reserve a region map location, you will not be able to use New World Studio.

Currently, each resident is limited to one free region (excepted non profits, cultural, and educative projects or organisations). As a non profit association at the beginning of its activity, we don’t have enough funds to support a more important load.

2. Install .NET / Mono

3. Download and install New World Studio

You antivirus software may black download or installation. This is a false alarm. You can install New World Studio without security issue.


If you fail to teleport to your region while other users can normally, you certainly have a “NAT Loopback” issue. Your router is NAT Loopback capable, but it is possible to add this feature to your local computer as a work around. Visit the downloads page and download the Nat Loopback Utility.
