New landstore

The landstore is back !

You can own free land (using OpenSim Made Easy) or paid region hosting at New World Grid with a lot of included services and unlimited regions according to the server memory.

This is as simple as this :

  1. Go the the landstore
  2. Choose a hosting server and create a subscription using the Buy Now button. (Install is free !)
  3. You’re done !

Your server will be installed quickly and will run as long as you maintain your subscription.
We plan to create a web interface for region owners paying hosting monthly so they can manage them easily.

Create your own OSURLs now !

Crackou and I were discussing about how we could set opensim:// links that could be handled by our OpenSim Launcher to teleport directly to an OpenSim grid location, as SLURLs do for Second Life. Then, we opened osurl.org to create location-based links with ease with http:// links. Many wiki and instant message software for example don’t present opensim:// links as real links what is annoying as you have copy paste in your browser.

Creating an OSURL will open your browser and display the osurl.org website with “Teleport Now!” button and an opensim:// link that will work only if OpenSim Launcher is installed. In the future, there will be an OpenSim Viewer based on the Linden open source client and it will handle opensim:// protocol handler. Thanks Mana Janus !

We also plan to implement world maps on osurl.org as SLURL have.

For example, you can create both OSURL links or opensim:// links depending on your preferences and platform…

Introducing OSURLs coming with OpenSim Launcher 0.2

OpenSim Launcher 0.2We are happy to announce you the next release of OpenSim Launcher with a great and useful feature !!!

You certainly already heard about SLURLs™ ? You know, the links like secondlife://Ahern/12/25 to teleport in Second Life from a website…

This week, we will bring to you OSURLs (for OpenSim URLs) to teleport in all OpenSim Grids as easily as you could with SLURLs ! OSURLs links will look like this (taken from the OpenSimulator wiki) :

opensim://grid.newworldgrid.com:8002/Welcome

You will need to install OpenSim Launcher 0.2 in order to handle this protocol handler.

I will also add more grids and viewers to the list soon !

OpenSim Made Easy v1.0 GoalHello ! I fixed a bug in OpenSim Made Easy related to “COM error”, so it should work fine now.

I am also starting to implement a lot more features just for you now : region chat, backup utility, advanced parameters for OpenSim Lovers and a private/public mode for those that want to be quiet building their regions or unable to TP inside their regions when they don’t have a NAT Loopback enabled router.

I am also developping an IRC Bot to empower trusted people and give them grid management powers. They will be able to be noticed about server crashes and other server notices, look for region status, restart a region, etc… all from the chat…

Introducing OpenSim Launcher !

OpenSim LauncherWe are pleased to announce you the first 0.1 release of OpenSim Launcher !

Have you ever had enough to create shortcuts again and again on your desktop, type and retype the login URIs again and again ?

Just put them to the trash and install OpenSim Launcher !

Now you can choose the grid you want to connect to among dozens of others, and choose the viewer you want to use among Second Life viewer and RealXtend !

Never retype your avatar name again ! It reminds them for you. You may have different avatar names on each grid. Just select the grid and the corresponding avatar name shows up ! Your passwords are never stored anywhere for more security. You can also clear your stored identities.

Want to add your own grid or viewer ? Please, let us know ! Contact us ! Grid and viewer lists are updated at each start up.

OpenSim Made Easy 0.2Hello !

I am happy to announce you the last version of OpenSim Made Easy. It is still in beta phase but it works pretty fine.

What is OpenSim Made Easy ?

OSME (OpenSim Made Easy) is a custom OpenSim installation including a software we are developing to make your OpenSim experience easier and better.

It creates / removes regions in one click, starts or shuts down your regions in one click, configures your network automatically using UPnP technology and it is also possible to show your ports and private IP address if UPnP fails.
