Voice, Hypergrid and Groups

Hi everyone !

As we achieve friday improvements on our continent, we will start setting up voice and hypergrid on New World Grid, and even groups.

Many thanks to the OpenSimulator developers and contributors for offering such a great open source technology to the community.

Friday maintenance

Hi !

The mainland will be unavailable during a moment Friday. We will migrate our quad core server from Linux Ubuntu Server to Windows 2003 Server for better performances and stability.

New interface online

Hi there !

The new web interface is online. You can now change your password here http://www.newworldgrid.com/lang/en-us/register/account or just go in the Register menu and select “My Account”. More features will be progressively added in the next weeks.

April and May goals

Dear residents and readers,

in some weeks, New World Grid will be made officially supported through a non-profit organization named Virtus which we are finalizing the creation.

There will also be some improvements and changes. Since we have spent some time on development of OpenSim Made Easy and we consider it as a way to make users adopt OpenSim more easily, we will focus these next weeks on some relative stability improvements (OpenSim is still alpha !) to have a better inworld experience.

As Virtus is created, we will start to work on an Open Source project which we will share the details soon.

Some other changes are being scheduled, and will be announced later.

FInally, I would like thank DreamStreams and Neo Smirnov for their contribution to help us test OpenSim on a dedicated grid.
