Hi,
an OpenSim update is scheduled for the 12th of june 2010. The virtual world will close at 12.00 UTC/GMT.
We will update the grid from OpenSim 0.6.8 to 0.6.9 which is currently the most stable release, thanks to the efforts of the OpenSimulator developers, contributors and testers !
Follow this blog post to keep updated.
GRID CLOSED. UPDATE IN PROGRESS…
We have about 2 hours of delay on our original scheduled due to a power supply that we needed OVH to change on our main server. The maintenance is going well…
The world is back online.

A mass load test is planned this tuesday4th of may 2010 19.30 UTC / 12.30 PDT on the main New World Grid grid in order to test performance and possibilities of this new OpenSimulator 0.6.8 version which the grid has been updated to this saturday.
Feel free to invite people, our goal being to go over the 62 simultaneous avatars in real conditions.
If you don’t have a New World Grid account, you can create on here.
The test will happen on a region which name will be given later. In order to make the test successful, we may limit access to the test region during the various test steps to observe the simulator and avoid an premature overload.
The test region will be connected to the New World public web chat.
No Hypergrid access is provided, for now.
For this first test, we will observe the evolution of a simulator constituted of a unique region, by steps, and in normal conditions of use : avatars moving, use of sits, animations, scripts, etc…
First, we will let 40 avatars in for a duration of about 15 to 30 minutes.
Then we’ll reopen access and test 60 avatars during 15 to 30 minutes.
Finally, we will reopen the region without limit until the simulator eventually crashes.
Many other performance tests will be scheduled during the next weeks.
